Dear Pastors, Friends and Supporting Churches, Sept. & Oct. 2015
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus our risen Lord and Savior. “My brethren count it all joy when you fall into divers temptation; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing “James 1:2-4. We hope that all is going well in your homes and churches. May the blessings of the Lord be with you and his grace keep you always.
The Church in SanMihaiu is going well. We praise the Lord that the church is continuing to grow. Sis. Mariana was saved and baptized a few weeks ago. Please pray for her husband Costel, son Claudiu and daughter to be saved and baptized also. A couple Ghita and Geta have called on the Lord but have not yet decided when they will obey the Lord in baptism. Pray that they will truly believe and obey. Today I went to Ilianda again with two other brethren and we had a good service. Many of the people have been gone to other cities looking for work and so the meetings there have been very sporadic. Most of the people are back in there homes for the winter and so we will begin to meet with them again twice a week. Pray with us that those saved and baptized will be discipled and that many unsaved will believe that gospel and be saved and baptized this winter.
I recently made a big mistake that has hurt me in the prison ministry. Several weeks ago we had seven men programmed for baptism at the Maxim Security Prison in Aiud. I put my phone in my bag with my Bible and study materials and laid it on the band to go through the x-ray machine. They found it and detained me one hour, kept my phone, and put me out. I will be exempted from the prison for a few months and they will not give me back my phone. I really thought for a while that I was going to prison. Pray with me that I will learn from this experience and be more careful in the future. Also that this will not hinder us in any other way in continuing here in Romania. Praise the Lord that the men were baptized by Pastor Petrisor and Bro. Raul will continue to disciple them.
We have begun with the construction of a small house on the church property in SanMihaiu, since we can not find a house for rent. It will be a small parsonage and Bro. Severus and his family will be living there the Lord willing when we can get it in the dry. They are living in Zalau at present and are needing a place to live in SanMihaiu. It is costing them far to much in fuel and it will be better for them in the work to be closer. We have the floor of the house finished and have started building the trusses. We have the wood for the trusses and walls. We are praying that the lord will supply the finances and that we can have the roofing on and the windows and doors in before Christmas. We are still planning to enlarge the church house, hopefully next year, and replace the roof on the whole structure. The church decided that this house for the Severus family is more needful at this time. Bro. Severus will probably be voted in as pastor of this church around the first of the year. We thank you all who continue to pray for us and support this misistry with your love and finances.
